More work with solids

Today we made play dough and looked at its properties to see why it is a solid.  Everyone had a great time experimenting with it to see that a ball of play dough doesn't change shape on its own, doesn't move on its own, and doesn't take the shape of a container that it is put in.

Here is the recipe that we used in case you want to make more at home:

1 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1/2 cup hot water (from the faucet was hot enough)
food coloring

Store the play dough in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
